A Taste For Chocolate

When Tracey Edelist discovered that premium chocolate was largely unavailable in Canada, she set about creating this easy-to-navigate site to fill the void. Edelist, who is based in Thornhill, also offers private and corporate chocolate tastings.

Chocolate 24/7

We're not sure when the addiction started. And while we know the first step to breaking the addiction is admitting we have one (we do, we do) we're not really sure we want to.

We're talking about chocolate and it's definitely not going out of our lives anytime soon, and that's why we're excited about our latest online find.

Called to the bar: Single-origin chocolate is the ultimate in affordable luxuries. Here's our guide to the very best by Monique Conrod

"Aromas of licorice, raisin and chestnut... harmonious character with a hint of vanilla... flavors of honey spice cake and citrus fruits..."

Throw in some details of terroirs, estates and vintages and you could be forgiven for thinking you'd encountered a cork dork raving about a favorite wine. But the bittersweet truth is that the world has gone loco for cocoa.

The Chocolate Cha-Cha: Unwrapping T.O's sweetest biz by Lindsay Soomet

Tracey Edelist has always been a health guru, but she still manages to consume at least 25 grams of chocolate a day. Though you'd never see this petite vegetarian at the corner store grabbing a Mars bar, her car is perpetually packed with some of the world's top chocolates, usually while she's on her way to hosting a chocolate-sampling event.

Chocolate Connoisseur: Developing a sophisticated taste for nature's not-so-forbidden fruit by Jennifer Brown

Developing a sophisticated taste for nature's not-so-forbidden fruit

You will forgive Tracey Edelist if she looks down her nose at the humble convenience store candy bar. What many people instinctively grab for a quick chocolate fix is a far cry from what this connoisseur of the cacao bean considers a good chocolate fix.
